Job Title: Sr. Buyer/Planner 32607
Primary Objective:
Responsible for timely high quality output of area resources with responsibilities for Production.
Essential Job Functions:
- Serve as contact with each contract manufacturer regarding production scheduling, shipment and delivery plans, and other recurring and non-recurring production and transportation issues.
- Plan and schedule production quantities by month for sub-contract manufactures and component suppliers.
- The production / purchase plans will be based on various inputs including, sales forecasts provided by finance and marketing, safety stock targets, production capacity of contract manufacturers, and inventory levels.
- On a daily basis, track shipments and receipts from each contract manufacturer in order to accurately track future inventory coverage and prepare future production plans.
- Requires communication with distribution centers worldwide.
- Prepare various reports and communications that cater to the recipients needs indicating short-term and long-term inventory outlook and other production related reports.
- Maintain scheduling and quality performance metrics.
- Publish results on a bi-weekly basis.
- Routinely review lot sizing, production run frequency and safety stock levels.
- Provide management with revised optimization proposals as appropriate.
- Prepare written communication to contract manufacturers and within the ACIST organization on a regular basis. Prepare and issue purchase orders.
- Coordinate ordering and delivery of raw materials to certain contract manufacturing sites and resolve related issues.
- Coordinate certain product component issues.
- Work closely with other functions within ACIST & Bracco Diagnostics Inc., including finance, marketing, customer service, quality, product development and sales, in order to provide the most accurate production plans to each contract manufacturer.
- Involvement in the Vendor Selection/Evaluation process Utilization of software tools provided by Bracco (as appropriate)
Education and Knowledge:
- Four-year degree, preferably, B.S. in Business Administration, Operations, or Finance.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in dealing with contract manufacturers and/or providing production requirements.
- Practical knowledge and understanding of logistics and distribution resource planning.
- Previous materials management master production scheduling or demand management experience desired.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, with emphasis on excel.
- Proficiency in Excel a must and experience with Access, a plus.
- Experience with using an MRP systems is strongly desired
