Job Title: Mechanical Engineer #33828

Primary Objective

Mechanical design, development, and support of electro-mechanical software-controlled medical device products

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Design, develop, prototype, measurement, and testing of mechanical hardware used in electro-mechanical software controlled devices.
  • Working knowledge of design simulation, finite element analysis, tolerance analysis, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Hands-on development and support from product conception to end of life
  • Rigorous documentation for all phases of development, including design specifications, verification test plans, project schedules, CAD models, drawings, and change orders.
  • Selection of vendors and fabrication sources.
  • Direct outside contract personnel as needed for completion of specific tasks.
  • Design products to meet regulatory requirements such as EMC and UL
  • Design products that meet thermodynamic requirements
  • Routine communication with peers and supervisors including documentation of work, meetings, and decisions.
  • Take a leadership role and drive project activities to completion
  • Maintain technical skills and awareness of technical improvements.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement

Knowledge, Education, Experience and Training:

  • BS Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of industry experience.

Skills And Abilities:

  • High mechanical aptitude
  • Computer-aided design simulation
  • Cad experience and knowledge of Cad system structure.
  • SolidWorks or Pro/E experience preferred
  • Design of injection molded components
  • Tolerance analysis proficiency
  • Drawing management system knowledge
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to remain productive with minimal supervision
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of QSR, ISO/EN and Quality System Standards.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Technical writing skills.
  • Project management experience preferred
